How to earn more than 0.01% interest on your savings

21/05/2017

With interest rates pitifully low, it’s an incredibly tough time for savers to get a decent return on their money. Yet by being creative it’s possible to turn the interest you earn from 0.1% to 10%.

A quick scan of some savings accounts shows many savers are earning 0.01% – which means after a year of saving £10,000 you would earn £1 for your trouble. And actually after you factor in inflation, you’re loosing money rather than making any. Yet by becoming an angel investor with us, we can turn this £1 into £1,000.

What’s an angel investor?

An angel investor is anyone who is looking to get a better return on their money than they are currently getting from the banks. As an angel you essentially lend us your money to invest in a property deal. We agree an interest rate with you (typically 10% for a year) which we will pay back to you either in monthly installments or after a year.

Why should you become an angel?

Actually lets re-phrase that to – “why wouldn’t you want to earn more interest on your savings?”

Being an angel is a great way to earn a far higher rate of interest on your savings than you could get via any other means, and it means we can buy more properties and turn them into good quality homes for families and professionals. It’s a win-win situation.

What do you do with my money?

We are a brother-sister team who buy below market value properties – usually that need work doing to them – and turn them into quality, warm, homes for families and professionals. We will use your money to fund these deals.

We work with a strong local power team, which means every project we work on is completed on time and within budget. So neither time nor money is wasted. We work with local builders, contractors, estate agents and letting agents.

Once the refurbishment of the property is completed, we refinance (take a new mortgage out on the property at the higher value) and pay you back your original investment plus the interest.

What risks are there in being an angel?

There’s very little risk. We ask solicitors to create a legal contract that ensures we repay your money at the set interest rate and by the set date. You will also get first charge on the property, which means should (extremely, extremely unlikely) the property be repossessed you will be the first person to get your money back.

Whenever we buy a property we will always ensure the numbers work with every exit strategy; buy, refurb and sell or buy, refurb, refinance and rent. And as we buy properties below market value we are immediately receiving a return on our money. We will also keep you informed via monthly reports of how the property is performing – so you aren’t kept in the dark.

Additionally, we’re in constant communication with our property mentor, Marttand Patel – who has over 25 years’ experience as a property developer and has a strong portfolio worth millions – who guides us on all our projects and ensures it is a good deal.

Is there a minimum amount I can invest?

There isn’t a minimum but to get the highest returns (10%) we do ask you invest at least £10,000.
